Sweet Kam at 9 Months

When I finally saw her after we were in Omaha, I thought to myself, OMG she’s gotten so big in the past three months! It’s crazy how fast little ones grow. Especially when you don’t get to see them every day. When I went to Omaha a few weeks ago, I knew I would be photographing Kam again for her 9 month photos. I just wasn’t sure where.

We stayed with our cousin, Cathi, and I knew that her home would be a great spot for photos. It’s a little tough when you’re not from a certain area. You aren’t familiar with locations or how the lighting is in that region. It all makes such a difference. But, I think things worked out well. Despite us being so busy with a wedding that day, we managed to squeeze this in and I am in love.

I love her cheeks, and her chubby legs. Katlin, you have the most beautiful little girl ever. She is so loved by our families and you are blessed. I wish I lived closer to you all. Love Love!

Harrison’s Hope 12th Annual Golf Tournament

What can I say that I haven’t said before about this amazing organization, Harrison’s Hope? I mean, if you aren’t familiar with them, you should be. Your kids need to be safe and they promote safety about cars. From their site:

Children should never be left alone in a vehicle, not even to run a quick errand. Harrison’s Hope offers parents the following tips to help keep their children safe.

  • Plan ahead to use drive-through services where available such as pharmacies and banks. More and more services are adding drive-through convenience, including dry cleaners, restaurants (beyond fast food), libraries, grocery stores, and even dog grooming. A quick search on the Internet will help you find convenient drive-through services in your area.
  • Call dry cleaners and other businesses to schedule pick-up and drop-off services at your vehicle. Most businesses will bring service curbside if you call ahead.
  • Make advance arrangements for your child-care provider to meet you at your vehicle. Alternatively, plan extra time into your pick-up/drop-off routine to bring all children inside with you.
  • Use your debit or credit card at the gas pump.
  • Ask grocery store clerks to load your bags into your vehicle and return the grocery cart.
  • If possible, leave your children with a responsible adult. Arrange a baby-sitting co-op with your neighbor to give you an hour to run errands.

Accidents can happen right in your own garage or driveway. Harrison’s Hope offers parents the following tips to help prevent accidents in or around vehicles.

  • Keep vehicles locked at all times — even in the garage or driveway.
  • Never leave keys within the reach of children.
  • Teach children to never play in or around vehicles.
  • Consider installing cross-view mirrors and/or a backup detection device on your vehicle.
  • Make sure all young passengers have left your car after it is parked.
  • When a child is missing, check vehicles and trunks immediately.

Sweet Kamryn

My cousin, Katlin, came down from Omaha for my grandpa’s 90th birthday last weekend. I was so excited because I was one of the few family members who hadn’t met Kamryn yet. It was worth the wait, because she is so beautiful. And, Kaitlyn loves her so much.

I was honored to take some photos of her in my studio. Even though she got a bit grumpy at the end. I wanted so much to take photos of her with the pink. But, instead, I got pee and looking the other direction. Sigh. Still, the concept is cute, right? Yes, I knitted that little hat!

Everybody say, “awwwwwww!”

In The Studio | Haley

They are on a plane, on their way to Japan. I can’t believe they will be so far away. But, luckily, it’s not forever.

A few weeks ago, my friend Amanda, and her family, stopped off at our home for a night as they trekked across the country from Connecticut to California. Saying goodbye to friends and family, they were heading to Japan with the Navy. It must be scary, exciting and stressful all at the same time for them.

I have been meaning to get this photos finished up for them before they left, but that didn’t happen. I guess they will just be getting some American mail from me soon! In honor of them, as they cross the Pacific ocean, here are some of my favorites of their daughter, Haley, in the studio last month.

Save travels, Dunns!
