It’s All Up Hill

Yesterday, they finished installing our furnace and I headed out to the Apple store. I wasn’t too pleased with my experience, which is not something I’ve EVER said about walking in the Apple store before. No one approached me at all as I was toying with and reading the specs on the Apple LED display. When I have to ask out of about 20 workers for someone to assist me with my purchase it can’t be a good sign, right?

I specifically told the guy I had a Mac Pro tower and it was a few years old. I asked him, this is going to work on my Mac Pro, right? I don’t need any special adapters or upgrades, etc.? Absolutely. Perfect. No problems. Easiest $1000 sale that guy made, right?

Got home with it, and guess what? My Mac Pro does not house a Mini DisplayPort. Talk about pissed. This is my only option to attach this monitor. Why on earth would Apple make a monitor that doesn’t work with their computers, or at least make an adapter for models that are simply a couple years old. Furious doesn’t begin to describe how I feel. Toting this heavy monitor across the mall to the car was a challenge. Why do they put Apple stores inside malls where you can’t easily park in front of to load you products? And, why would your salesman sell me something I can’t use?

After calling and telling him this was turning into a pain in the ass, all I was told that I could buy a new graphics card for my computer. No thanks, Apple. No thanks to you.

I returned it. Yes, I owned one of those gorgeous monitors for about an hour. Sigh. It’s pretty sad when you can’t spend a grand in the Apple store when you want to.

I headed directly to Best Buy and purchased a 27 inch Samsung LED for less than half the price. Oh, and I got 0% interest for 18 months. Suck it, Apple. SUCK ON IT!

Now that we’ve replaced the broke down Jeep, we’ve replaced the dying Air Conditioner and Furnace and now I have a fully calibrated monitor to replace mine that burned up, it can only go UP hill from here, right?

Here’s to an amazing weekend ahead of lots of great and positive things!

Jane - This is why I hate buying tech stuff! Take the money you saved and buy a new lens!

Holly - Yes, you expect people to be knowledgeable! HA on the lens! I have pretty much all I need there, so it’s nice to just save money for once!
