Little Pink Christmas

My bedroom has been decorated as a shabby chic style decor for some time. This year, however, I had to buy a new bed. The one I chose was a sleigh bed, but it was black. It doesn’t really scream shabby chic. But, it’s what I liked. Therefore, I’m sitting on what I’ll do in that room to make it fit better. It’s pretty much all over the road looking with that black bed. I won’t choose a color to paint until I find the perfect bedspread. Finding something that I love that isn’t a duvet cover (I HATE THOSE THINGS) is tough. It will come to me when I am not really looking, this I’m sure.

Meanwhile, I purchased this amazing old dresser at an antique store (I wonder how old it really is – so many features that make me think it goes way back). I had to have it. Perfect size for my tiny bedroom. It hasn’t been touched. I knew I’d have to paint it or something. And, now I intend to try a faux patina finish on it. Which will go great with the black bed. I also want a beautiful big, ornate mirror to lean on it in the back. I have purchased a couple of beautiful ornate black picture frames as you can see on the dresser. I just need to find great photos to put in them.

Alas, the bedroom is on hold while I tend to the home office remodel. I’ve been using Tumblr to log some of my ideas for the home office.

I figured it may be the last year for using the pink trees. I love my pink trees. They look great up on this dresser. I just wish I had that big mirror behind it to add to the depth. I’ll find it one day! Thought I’d show you a few shots of my current tree/dresser situation. It’s certainly not a “polished” look that I would go for, but I wanted to remember those pink trees…just in case the room gets painted next year and goes to a totally different look.
