St. Louis Wedding Photography | Elizabeth’s Trash the Dress Session

You’re sure to see a lot of Elizabeth in the future! I am shooting her wedding in June and just did her engagement session this week. And, Elizabeth rocks because she watches lots of America’s Next Top Model and could give us the poses. No really, she did! Her personality is so animated and elegant. I love talking to her, hearing her tell stories, and now, photographing her!

I met Elizabeth through my friend, Maura, last year. When I posted that I was doing this call for Trash the Dress, Elizabeth approached me about doing a more vintage look with a dress she purchased at a thrift store for her graduation. This look was perfect! So different and unique from the others we were doing. Makeup artist, Elisabeth, said that we had to go for an Alice and Wonderland inspiration and called it Mad Hatter. I agree. The coat really finished up the look.

I put a call out for brides wanting to trash their dresses for me on Twitter and Facebook, and in a matter of hours we had four willing models lined up. I have wanted to do this type of session forever and really want to show off these types of images in our more conservative region of the United States. It’s something that I think can be a lot of fun.

With many reasons to do a session like this – do you really think you’ll wear your dress again in 20 years? Did you just get divorced? Why not have fun and feel like a fashion model for the day? If you’re not that type, no biggy!
